Radiometric age dating flaws

Radiometric dating of rocks and minerals using naturally occurring, long-lived radioactive isotopes is troublesome for young-earth creationists because the techniques have provided overwhelming evidence of the antiquity of the earth and life. Some so-called creation scientists have attempted to show that radiometric dating does not work on theoretical grounds (for example, Arndts and Overn 1981; Gill 1996) but such attempts invariably have fatal flaws (see Dalrymple 1984; York and Dalrymple 2000).

I specifically want to know if there is a slight chance that Radiometric Dating could be flawed since scientists eliminate any dates not in accordance to their pre-established ages for the geologic column.

My example is: Say hypothetically, something was not actually millions of years old, but scientists say it is due to their Geologic column, and suppose this creature/object was actually only a couple thousand years old...

If scientists are looking for a date in the millions when the object is only in the thousands isn't this a flaw, by looking for what they believe in instead of looking at the evidence first?

A swimming race illustrates the simple principles involved in measuring time.

During the race you have to watch the swimmer and count how many laps he has swum so you know that he has done 1,500 metres.
